Milgard Windows & Doors was founded in 1958 by Maurice Milgard, Jr. and his son in Tacoma, Washington. They began manufacturing sliding glass doors, in addition to windows, in the late 1960s. In 1989, the company introduced Milgard windows with vinyl frames.
Milgard continues to grow, with operations facilities still located in Tacoma, as well as in Portland, Sacramento, Denver, Phoenix, Dallas/Ft. Worth and Temecula. In 2001, Milgard was purchased by Masco Corporation, which also owns Delta Faucet Company, among other consumer brand-names for home and family. Milgard is a vertically-integrated window and patio door manufacturer, meaning they manufacturer every component of their products internally. This allows the company to control quality levels of every part of their product lines and offer the highest quality products and services to their customers.
The company’s newest product line is the Essence Series windows and patio doors. The unique feature of the Essence Series is that each product is designed with all natural wood interior frames and fiberglass exterior frames. The fiberglass exterior frames come in 16 different color options while the wood interior frames are offered in pine, vertical grain Douglas Fir, or primed wood options.
Milgard offers customers a straight-forward full lifetime warranty on work performed by their factory-trained technicians, and any warranty issue will be addressed by their own service personnel in nearly all of the markets they service.
