Geometric Windows Add Style to Your San Diego Home

by Michal Bohm     July 8, 2019

Geometric Windows Add Style to Your San Diego Home

Geometric windows are ultra-specialty windows made in standard and custom geometric shapes. Common shapes of  geometric windows used in San Diego homes include: rectangles, octagons, half-circles, and full circles. Geometric windows are typically single pane in a fixed frame and do not open and close. The ventilation trade-off however is that geometric windows add sophistication and a custom look to your San Diego home.

Geometric windows are perfect for walls of the home where an unobstructed view is desired, especially San Diego homes in canyon areas or along the coast with beach views. Window manufacturers offer different frame colors and standard or custom sizes of geometric windows. Many manufacturers even offer energy efficient and Energy Star compliant options as well.

Geometric windows are sometimes combined with other styles of windows to create architectural interest. For example, you could place a half-circle window above a single or double hung window, or even place one above your front door to let in some light into your entry way.

As mentioned above, custom sizes and shapes are also available, which means the options for geometric windows are only limited by your imagination!

The main consideration to remember when considering geometric windows for your San Diego home is they are a fixed frame window, so they have no operation and will not increase fresh air circulation in your home. They will increase natural light, maximize outdoor views, and they are easy to clean and maintain since they do not open and close. But most importantly, they add a custom sense of style and give your San Diego home that curb appeal of specialty designed windows.
