Smith Farms, a custom furniture company based in the Southern California city of Menifee, recently announced the launch of a new collection of one-of-a-kind tables. The series of tables is called the “Merge Collection” and features a variety of side tables, coffee tables, and other small tables.
While each table in the Merge Collection is unique, the pieces in the collection have a couple of features in common. First of all, each table has a similar X-shaped base. This is part of where the name of the collection originates—the pieces that form the bases of the tables merge together in an X formation to create a sturdy and visually interesting base.
The collection also features the merging of multiple species of wood, some exotic and some that are more commonly found in fine furniture. For example, in this round side table from the Merge Collection, Smith Farms combines Black Cherry wood with Wenge wood (a dense African hardwood) to create a striking pattern on the table’s surface.

At Smith Farms, we are very excited for the launch of the Merge Collection! We see this collection as an exploration of different designs, which are a variation on a common theme. The collection will feature tables of different shapes, sizes, and thicknesses. We will also be using a variety of wood species to create unique patterns and designs. Overall, the collection has a modern look and feel, but we think the pieces can work well in many different styles of homes.”

A table from the Merge Collection will be included in an upcoming edition of Mountain Living magazine, a publication dedicated to luxury homes in the Mountain West region of the United States.
