If you’re searching for San Diego events designed to both inspire and stretch your mind, and you’re willing to drive just a few miles north of the city, TEDxTemecula will not disappoint.
Typically sporting a full house, TEDxTemecula has been captivating audiences for the past seven years, offering listeners access to more than 60 different TED-style talks on every topic imaginable – from why you may not be getting good sleep, to the importance of helping elderly know they matter, to turning a busy life into a balanced life, and more.
Each year, approximately eight speakers offer their unique insights in a way that can really change how you interact with and view the world. This year is expected to be no different.
TEDxTemecula 2019
The 2019 TEDxTemecula event is scheduled for Saturday, September 28th at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater at 42051 Main Street in Temecula. Speakers are set to go that day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with an absolutely amazing locally-sourced lunch provided in between.
If you choose, you can also stay a little longer and attend the public reception for about an hour after the event, which is a great time to network with the TEDx volunteers and other attendees.
There’s also a Private Speaker Reception After Party if you’d like some one-on-one time with the speakers. Space at the reception is limited, though, so you must reserve your spot in advance, which you can do by choosing that option when purchasing your tickets and paying the additional cost.
This Year’s Theme
As is traditional, TEDxTemecula has a different theme each year. For instance, last year’s theme was “Absurdity” and, in 2017, the theme was “On the Brink.” What types of talks can you expect this year? Those that are “Elevated.”
The great thing about having themes such as these is that they can really go in any direction. So, even though they are all connected via one central idea, each one stands uniquely on its own based on the speaker’s interpretation of what that particular concept means based on his or her experiences.
Unsurpassed Hospitality
If you’ve ever attended a TEDxTemecula event in the past, you already know that the level of hospitality offered by this group is 5-star all the way. Run entirely by volunteers, each one makes it a personal mission to provide attendees with the best experience possible, which means that no stone is left unturned.
Every detail is attended to and every guest is treated as if the event is being put on solely for them. This includes stationing volunteers in various places around the theater to answer any questions and always greeting you with a genuine hello and a smile. And did we mention that amazing lunch they provide?
An Interactive Experience
Additionally, if you think that attending this northern San Diego event means just sitting and listening to speakers all day, you couldn’t be more wrong. One thing that really sets TEDxTemecula apart is how it provides attendees an interactive experience.
Before the event and during the breaks, you have the opportunity to engage in various activities that have been set up in the area in front of the theater. While these activities change every year based on the theme, they are sure to keep your mind thinking outside the box in typical TED fashion.
About TEDx
If you’re unfamiliar with TEDx events, these are independent TED-style events that are intended to give a voice to local speakers and local community issues as opposed to TED events which tend to be more global in nature.
Like TED, TEDx talks are approximately 18 minutes in length and are based on “Ideas Worth Spreading.” After the event, these talks are also available online, as each one is taped and posted on TEDx’s YouTube channel.
If the talk is exceptional, you may find it picked up by TED.com as well.
To Attend TEDxTemecula 2019
If you’re ready to attend TEDxTemecula 2019, tickets are available via Eventbrite. The cost of each one ranges, depending on factors such as how soon you purchase your tickets (as early-bird prices are offered), as well as whether you’d like to also attend the speaker reception once the event is complete.
You can also purchase a ticket as a “Friend Sponsor,” which means that, in addition to being able to attend the conference and speaker reception, your name is also listed in the program as a TEDxTemecula sponsor. What a great way to show your support!
Regardless of which option you choose, prepare to be amazed because this event will undoubtedly be one most memorable San Diego-area events you’ve ever attended. An event that, in all likelihood, will change how you view the world.
