The Old Town Soap Company: All-Natural Products for the Care and Wellness of San Diegans

The Old Town Soap Company is a San Diego company that does so much more than just sell soap! They make and sell a variety of personal care and wellness products, using the finest natural ingredients that are responsibly sourced. All of their products are vegan friendly, non-GMO, and gluten free. Not only are their products beneficial for health and wellness, they are also beautiful and smell great! Their soaps contain only natural colorants and herbs that give them a rustic beauty.

Two of their specialty products are their African Black Soap and their Chaga Soap. The African Black Soap, which can also be used as a shampoo bar, is made by hand in Ghana using locally harvested ingredients that are all natural. The Chaga Soap is made from medicinal mushrooms, as well as 100% pure essential oils and butters that have ani-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antioxidant properties.

In addition to soap, they sell body butters, essential oils, and a variety of creations from African artists. They also sell items to complement their main personal care and wellness product, such as loofahs, towels, bathrobes, and more.

For customers looking for a unique experience, The Old Town Soap Company offers workshops. You can sign up for one of their regular workshops, or have them create a custom experience just for you and your group. In the past, they have hosted workshops for soap making, body butter making, essential oil blending, and candle making. They will also bring their products to your event. They have a Bath & Body Buffet that they can bring to events such as bridal showers, Mother’s Day events, baby showers, or any other event you can dream up!

The Old Town Soap Company’s founder is Ernestine Brown, a Military veteran who started making soap as a form of mental therapy. She soon discovered all of the amazing benefits of using all-natural products and started sharing her products with others. She launched her business in 2012, selling first at farmer’s markets, and then opening up a brick-and-mortar store in San Diego. Brown takes great pride in mentoring her team of employees, and also generously shares her business experience with new and prospective entrepreneurs.

You can find The Old Town Soap Company inside Liberty Public Market. You can also purchase their products at the Point Loma Farmer’s Market or the Solana Beach Farmer’s Market on Sundays, or from their online store at any time.
